The Fourth of July!

I had a wonderful fourth of July weekend by resting and not doing a whole lot! Saw some great fireworks, ate good food, and enjoyed my kids! I wish we were all together, but...maybe next year!

Plan on getting back to rug hooking this weekend.  So many projects and stuff to do...just never enough time!

My Pfaff Smart 350p Punching Machine

On Saturday, June 5, I purchased a Pfaff punching machine. It is like a super needle felting experience, and I just love it! I was able to felt many small projects over the weekend. This is for two dimensional felting and is touted as a quilter's accessory. No needles to thread, no tension, just sharp felting needles going up and down, and up and down....etc....

This is a small pouch I designed, perfect for an I Pod or cell phone. Even the TV remote fits nicely in it. This one was a fun little project.

I made several heart patches as well! I'm not sure if I'll use these as individual appliques or put them all together in a table runner.

My overall impression:
This is a great little machine that I picked up on sale for a great price, and will use a lot. It's so fun and so fast!

Lots Going On & It's Not Even Summer Yet!

Time has certainly gone by quickly. Summer isn't here quite yet, but everyone is feeling the heat. Kelvin graduated this year and left for boot camp to Fort Jackson, SC. He left on June 7, 2010 and we are all very sad here. More so for ourselves and missing him. But, I am so proud of his decision to be a part of the United States Army National Guard!

So, Kelvin...Here's to you! We are Proud of you! And to all you others out there, please pray for my boy! Thanks.

This is a simple block quilt I did a while back. I actually found rug hooking through a local quilt shop. I have tried many fiber arts, but in all I do, I am almost always pulled back into rug hooking. There seems to be a lure, and maybe it's because rug hooking has so much versatility.

I was never an expert quilter, but I do love the look of the fabrics out there! Somehow, I could never achieve a whole lot beyond squares.
